Ok, so much like our webmaster, , you have a 28,800 modem because 56K won't work in your area and you keep meaning to look into getting DSL or cable and besides, you'd rather hear the 28,800 or G2 version of The Daily Feed so that you can hear all those subtle nuances in Max's vocal stylings. Oh and you want to hear Frank's baritone attempt to drown out the background insistences of Charles, The Daily Feed Dog's opinions on the subject of "walkies". Or, more likely, you're behind an office firewall that your fascist dictatorial management has had the sysadmins erect to keep you "working".

We've decided to try to provide you with a way to download the Daily Feed in its entirety to your hard disk then play it back from there, even though it's a bit more cumbersome and time consuming. On the bright side, you can play them back as many times as you like (even offline!) with no garbling and you have access to the highest quality uninterrupted version available (unless you buy the CD which we encourage you to do as often as possible), regardless of your connection speed.

Look for the "rather download" buttons below. The 28,800 version looks like this and the Real G2 like this . There are also text links beneath the buttons which use http pseudo streaming and may work in older browsers where the buttons don't work or give you a login error. We no longer provide the 14,400 version (pre-RealAudio 5.0 - what're they up to now, 9.0?).

Depending upon which browser you use, you may have to try different things. For some, when you left click on one of the links, your browser might commence download of the related piece. For others, you may have to right click (click with your right mouse button over the link) and choose "Save Target As..." or "Save Link As..." or something like that, then choose where the file is to go on your system and start the download. Unfortunately, due to a change by our ISP, download from your browser may not work at all. We have been able to get it to work using the right click method with MSIE 5 and Netscape 6 series browsers. If you are unable to get it to work with your browser, you may have to use a third party ftp client. To see how, go here for some pointers.

Unlike when using the RealAudio player, playing back one of these files from disk is not streamed audio so it will have to be completely downloaded before you hear anything. Once it's on your system, and assuming you have the RealAudio player downloaded and installed on your system, you can now play the file. If you're one of the lucky few and the download started when you left clicked the link, it's likely that your browser will automagically startup the RealAudio player and begin playing the piece. If not, run the RealAudio player and choose Open File... under the File menu and load the file from there. You may have to change the name of the file to have a .ra or .rm extension if the player doesn't recognize it as a RealAudio format file.
